TEACHING
Supervision
I welcome mentorship and supervision opportunities at all levels, and am especially interested in hearing from students wishing to pursue research on transitional justice, peace operations, international norm dynamics, the politics of international law (particularly ICL and IHL), frame analysis and/or transnational advocacy networks.
Undergraduate Honours Theses
I typically take on 2-3 undergraduate honours thesis students each academic year. Once I have reached my personal capacity for undergraduate supervisions in a given academic year, I am unable to take on any additional projects to ensure the quality of supervision.
Interested in pursuing an undergraduate honours thesis with me?
• Make sure that your thesis project aligns with my research interests (see above). There must be a close fit in order for me to take you on.
• E-mail me about to 6-8 months before your intended start date. If you are planning to write in the F/W terms, you should reach out to me no later than in February of the previous academic year. If you are planning to write in the W/S terms, you should reach out to me no later than in April. I typically reach my capacity for a given academic year by May.
• When inquiring, please send me (1) your unofficial academic transcript, and (2) a general synopsis of your idea/topic. This will help me make an informed decision about fit and your abilities as a student for self-directed learning. I typically only take on students who have maintained an average of at least 80%.
Teaching
I have broad teaching interests in political science, including international relations theory, international law and organizations, global governance, security studies, transitional justice, peace operations, humanitarian intervention and qualitative research methods.
